Orange Poppyseed Bundt Cake



You will need:
225g of butter
225g of caster sugar
225g of self raising flour
20g of poppyseeds
1 large orange
150g of icing sugar
4 eggs


Preheat the oven to 180C and generously grease a bundt cake tin.

Cream together the butter and the caster sugar. Add the zest of the orange and the poppyseeds, beat these into the butter mix until well distributed.

Beat the flour and eggs, ensuring that as much air gets into the batter as possible. Pour the cake mix into the bundt tin. Bake for 40-45mins or until a cake skewer comes out of the cake clean.

Whilst you allow the cake to cool completely, make the orange icing. Simply beat together the juice of the orange with 150g of icing sugar. Gently drizzle the icing around the cake and add the zest of an orange to decorate.
