Dinosaur chocolate fudge cake

Dinosaur chocolate fudge cake, ideal for a children's party!
You will need:-
230g of sugar
230g of butter
230g of self raising flour
60g of cocoa powder
4 eggs
140g of softened butter
280g of icing sugar
200g of melted chocolate
Sugar paste or royal icing
Black food colouring
(Digestive biscuits optional)

First, add 230g of sugar and 230g of butter into a large bowl and cream together. Add 230g of self raising flour, 60g of cocoa powder and 4 eggs and combine, folding in as much air as possible. Lightly grease two cake tins and pour the mixture into each. Bake for 20-25mins.
Whilst the cakes are baking, add 140g of softened butter and 280g of icing sugar into a large bowl, mix well. Then stir in 200g of melted chocolate.

When the cakes are cool, use the icing to make a sandwich of the two cakes and generously apply the icing to the sides and top of the cake.

Then use sugar paste (or royal icing) to form the skeleton of the dinosaur. Colour some of the icing grey and roll into various sized balls to make rocks to place around the cake. For extra decoration, crush up digestive biscuits and sprinkle on the top.

This cake is perfect for children's birthdays, or for grownups who have a penchant for fossils!

(Tip: use colouring paste instead of food colouring, as it can make royal icing or sugar paste sticky when making dark colours)

Enjoy! x
