Salted Chocolate Bread

A nice alternative to chocolate cake

You will need:-

250g of strong white flour
1 sachet of yeast
150ml of warm water
3 tbsp of sugar
30g of cocoa
Chopped 35g of dark chocolate

Place 250g of strong white flour into a large bowl and use a wooden spoon to make a well in the centre. Pour the sachet of yeast, the sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate and half of the water into the well. Stir this together and then add the rest of the water. Then combine this into a soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead the dough for 5 minutes.

Place the dough in a warm place and leave to prove for one hour.

When the dough has doubled in size, turn this onto a floured surface and knock the air out of it. Then shape into a dome and place in a warm place to prove for a further 30mins. Preheat the oven for 200 degree celcius.

Sprinkle the top of the dough with course sea salt and bake for 20mins at 200 degrees celcius.

Tip: Cut into slices and serve with fruit and creme fraiche for a sweet dessert.

Enjoy! x
